Dolly Parton

When I learned that Williams Sonoma was collaborating with the legendary Dolly Parton, I eagerly seized the opportunity to craft the packaging for her baking mixes. There was, however, one unique condition: we were to feature Dolly's face on the packaging, a practice Williams Sonoma had previously been reluctant to embrace. But this was Dolly, an icon in her own right! How could we possibly decline such a request? To strike a balance, I conceived the idea of commissioning a custom-drawn illustration instead of using photography, ensuring alignment with the WS aesthetic and maintaining an on-brand feel. This approach proved to be a harmonious compromise for Team Dolly and Williams Sonoma alike. After numerous iterations and collaborating with Anderson Design to attain the perfect silhouette, we all agreed on the final result.
