Williams Sonoma's long-standing essential oils collection of soaps, lotions, candles, and more has remained unchanged for numerous years. However, this year, our housewares team presented a proposal for a fresh, premium collection featuring elevated scents. I was thrilled to collaborate with the team to bring this new collection to life.

The journey began with the creation of a custom diffuser box. Drawing inspiration from the lid of the potpourri, I incorporated a blind letterpressed pattern that added a delightful, pillowy texture, enhancing the entire collection's design. This design was complemented by simple yet elegant typography, creating a cohesive and upscale look.

This project posed a significant challenge as it represented a departure from the brand's traditional approach. Many individuals suggested eliminating color entirely from the collection. However, from past experiences, this wouldn't align well with our store's emphasis on color differentiation in our products. After countless rounds of revisions and discussions, we returned to my initial vision for the collection. I am delighted that we persevered, maintaining the essence of my original vision.

The result is a stunning and successful collection that we are proud to have launched. The custom design of the diffuser box has been particularly well-received, contributing to the collection's overall success.

Year after year, this collection continues to prove its worth for the brand.
